Benjamin Weil is currently the Chief Curator of LABoral Centro de Arte y Creacion Industrial in Gijón, as well as the Artistic Director at H BOX, a program of Fondation d’entreprise Hermès. He is also a visiting professor in the Faculty of Art and Design at the IUAV University in Venice.After studying history of art in Paris, he moved to New York where he worked as assistant curator for a major private collection. He then undertook curatorial training in Venice at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and later attended the Whitney Independent Study Program in New York. After working as an independent critic and curator, Weil co-founded adaweb, a digital foundry that produced online works of art by numerous artists including Jenny Holzer, Doug Aitken and Lawrence Weiner. He later served as Curator of Media Arts at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMoMA) and was the Executive Director of Artists Space in New York. www.laboralcentrodearte.org
